A different balance, for a different room
In some rooms, maximum light output is not the design priority. In fully controlled theaters, with moderate screen sizes, light output past what the screen and the room require adds nothing the viewer can see. It is spent on nothing, and it is spent at the expense of the part of the image that the room can actually give back: contrast, tonal separation, the depth that makes an image feel three-dimensional.
That creates the opportunity to optimize the optical system around a different balance of performance. The UltraNero 4S HC was engineered for those applications.
A new optical bench
The UltraNero 4S HC is developed from the UltraNero platform and shares its control and installation capability, but not its optics. At its center is a completely new optical bench, designed from the start for contrast performance, tonal separation and perceived depth. Tone mapping and an HDR curve developed by SIM2 R&D are matched to it, not adapted to it.
The result is a deeper native black and separation held in the part of the image where most projectors compress it: the low end, where shadow detail either survives or disappears.
Up to 5,000 lumen, matched to the rooms it was designed for. Beyond them, the UltraNero platform continues.


WHY
Seeing First asks the same question before every engineering decision. Will the viewer see the difference? In a fully light-controlled room, more lumen does not pass that test. Contrast does.
